When the Groove Yields Infinity

What’s an ideal groove?

It’s a frame-set…

…that makes you outperform.

When you find your ideal groove, you keep levelling up, as if it were the daily norm.

Why?

You feel like working.

The groove is such.

It’s a coupling of the right environment, the right time-sets, the right people, the right systems…and you.

And, it’s not just any odd coupling.

It’s the ideal coupling.

Saying that you feel like working is actually an understatement.

You feel like outperforming. That’s a more accurate statement.

Even more accurate would be, that outperformance becomes a habit with you.

Such is the groove.

Wow!

How does one find this groove?

HA!

Now you’re asking the million dollar question.

Many perish without finding it.

Many have never heard of it. They just don’t know any better.

Some have heard of it, but their circumstances are such, that they don’t have the time, resources or energy to look for it.

A few are able to search for it.

Even fewer make it past strategy.

Some of these are able to couple their many strategies into a full-fledged system.

Now comes fitting.

One needs to now fit-fit-fit.

A handful will keep fitting their systems…

…and fitting and fitting…

till the system fits…

…themselves.

When you hear that fitting sound come through, like a broken bone being set and making a loud popping or snapping sound, you know that you have a fit.

Once a successful system fits you, it is then capable of yielding infinity.

Lost for Words, Mr. Nath?

Yeah, sometimes I really am.

With very few people, and in very few situations.

Call it Karma.

That’s not the point.

In the event you find yourself in a similar situation, we’re here to size up options.

What do we fall back on?

Silence.

In its solitude, a thought processes emerges.

What are we looking for?

Cool, calm straight-forward common sense.

Found it?

It will speak to you.

Let it.

It’s got the words, remember? You don’t.

Listen to it.

What’s it telling you to do?

Difficult?

Can you do it? A yes is great here. You’re sorted already.

No?

Next option.

Nothing.

Can you sit tight? Doing nothing? Till your path emerges? Yes is good.

No?

Ok.

Can you stop yourself from doing the wrong thing?

Wrong?

Violence, anger etc. You got it?

How, you ask?

Occupy yourself with something else more captivating. Possible? A yes here is your last “amicable” option.

If it’s still a no, you might want to consider new company, or a new environment.

Sometimes, we get stuck in life. With a person. And / or in a situation. For good reasons, we can’t get out. What’s the silver lining?

Learning.

Our difficult situation is ironing out some fault within us. As long as the fault remains, the situation seems desperate. No fault anymore? Situation vanishes.

It’s called evolution.

We don’t evolve for free.

Similarly, we don’t learn to navigate through the markets for free.

Difficult situations teach us. They cost money.

We survive small losses through the learning process, to win big later. We want the learning process to come at an early stage, when the stakes are low.

The biggest wins come when we use our evolution to capitalize upon a difficult situation, because we know its nuances. That’s good for the markets.

In real life it won’t pay to take advantage of somebody’s nuances. That’s actually devolving.

Maintaining perspective between market life and real life is an evolutionary exercise too.

How I Wish to Trade

Tension?

No.

Hassle-free?

Yes.

Profit?

Yes.

Fun?

Too.

I want it to make me want to come back.

In the background?

Yes.

Part of my normal life?

No.

Disturbing me in the night?

No?

Terminal on – ideally once a day. Max twice. That’s it.

Protection?

Yes. Stops for forex. Hedges for options. No naked options.

Exits?

Make me exit. Yeah, Mrs. Market needs to make me exit. I don’t wish to exit on my own. She needs to throw me out of a trade.

Fear?

None.

Why?

Bread and butter secured through other-than-trading instruments.

Trading with surplus.

Surplus can potentially become zero. Will I still take the next trade?

Yes. After scanning strategy for errors.

Loss?

Will take small ones, again and again and again. That’s the only way to find the large profit moves.

Once profit sets in, what then?

Nothing then.

Normal.

Behaving as if nothing has happened.

Giving the trade room.

It needs to make even more profit.

It is a potential multi-x trade. Why should I nip it in the bud? As I said, make me exit. Throw me out.

Family life?

Balanced.

Remnant anger from trading?

None.

When yes, stop trading. Trading should never be allowed to disturb family life.

Evolutionary?

Forever. Learning, learning, learning.

Bias?

None.

News?

No.

Tips?

None.

Peers?

Maybe to start a strategy with. After strategy is made to fit – no peers any more.

Discussion?

None. Hopefully.

Don’t like to discuss trades after terminal shuts.

Losses piling up?

Review strategy. Discard, renew, implement, trade again.

Profits piling up?

Great. Do nothing.

Are you getting the gist?

Similarly, you need to figure out how you might want to trade.

Many things I might be doing will not suit you automatically.

You need to make things fit.

If something doesn’t fit, discard it.

Look for something new that might fit.

Make a trading strategy that’s lucrative and gels with you and your lifestyle and environment.

Such a strategy will blossom. For you.
